celebrating music beyond the mainstream
rhapsology is built on the simple idea that some of the best music doesn’t always get the chance to be heard. it’s a space that honors artists making innovative, unique and vulnerable work, especially the ones who’ve yet to be swept away by the mainstream.
this all started because I couldn’t keep the music I love to myself. I’ve been obsessed with it as long as I can remember. I make music, write it, study it. I’ve been told I “have the ear,” particularly for the sounds that tend to fall outside of the algorithm. it became a regular occurrence to play a song for a friend that I had been playing for years, only to realize it was their first time hearing it. that spark—putting someone on to something they didn’t know they needed—is what lit the fire behind rhapsology.
at its core, rhapsology is about connection. music is one of the rawest and most instinctive forms of human expression. it reveals people. it builds bridges. there are spots throughout the site for anybody else out there crazy about this stuff to send in what they’re listening to or working on. let’s make space for the artists that move us.
